Tillpad vs Zapier MCP

Zapier MCP connects an MCP client to actions in Zapier's app directory. Tillpad is a smaller set of storage, search, inbox, and schedule tools with its own spending cap. For developers comparing MCP servers for agents. Pro is $9 a month. Checked October 2026.

Zapier MCP

Zapier's MCP docs describe one endpoint, https://mcp.zapier.com/api/v1/connect, over Streamable HTTP. They say SSE-only clients cannot connect. Authentication is OAuth inside a supported MCP client, or a connection token sent as Authorization: Bearer. The OAuth client list on that page names Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Grok Bot, and VS Code (how connections work).

The Zapier MCP home page says the service connects to 9,000+ app integrations (Zapier MCP). Tillpad does not provide that catalog.

Zapier's usage doc says one successful MCP tool call uses two tasks from the Zapier plan, and that failed calls do not consume tasks (usage and billing). If pay-per-task billing is on, calls continue up to a usage cap. If it is off, or the plan does not include it, calls stop until the cycle resets, the plan is upgraded, or pay-per-task is turned on.

Tillpad on this site

Tillpad's MCP server is https://tillpad.dev/mcp. It expects Authorization: Bearer and a tp_ key. It does not implement OAuth. The OAuth discovery URLs on this host return 404, and the server card lists bearer only.

The tools cover usage and budget, keys, key-value storage, memory scopes, file and note indexing, search, inboxes, and schedules. Human Pro can run into metered overage up to a hard cap. Agent prepaid Pro stops at the included quota, plus the two top-up SKUs. See spending caps and pricing.

Zapier tasks and Tillpad usage are counted differently, so there's no direct price comparison.

Questions people ask

Does Tillpad bill Zapier tasks?

No. Tillpad has its own meters. Zapier MCP task billing applies only when the client is connected to Zapier.

Does Zapier's Grok Bot listing mean Tillpad is integrated with Grok Bot?

No. Zapier's connection doc names Grok Bot as an OAuth client for Zapier MCP. That is Zapier's product, not a Tillpad partnership.
