MCP server for agents in Claude
Claude Code can add the public MCP server with a bearer header. The HTTP API works either way. Tillpad isn't an official Claude connector. For developers connecting Claude to an MCP server. Pro is $9 a month. Checked October 2026.
Claude Code
Claude Code's MCP docs show a remote HTTP server added with a bearer header (Connect Claude Code to tools via MCP). The Tillpad URL and header are below. The key has to start with tp_ and the account needs active Pro before metered tools succeed.
claude mcp add --transport http tillpad https://tillpad.dev/mcp \ --header "Authorization: Bearer $TILLPAD_API_KEY"
Claude.ai custom connectors
Anthropic's help article says a custom connector is added from organization settings with the remote MCP URL, and that Claude connects to it from Anthropic's cloud, so the server must be on the public internet (custom connectors). The connector authentication doc says a fixed Authorization header is a beta available to a limited set of organizations (authentication). Tillpad does not implement OAuth. If your organization does not show request headers, use Claude Code or the HTTP API instead of expecting OAuth sign-in to succeed.
HTTP API
Any Claude-based agent that can send HTTPS can call the same routes. A full loop is in llms-full.txt.
curl -s -H "Authorization: Bearer tp_…" "https://tillpad.dev/api/budget"
